Mixed media and fabric on recycled paper
This mixed media art work discusses the asrtist own relation towards nature which is often present in her work. Sinkkonen has been afraid of darkness as long as she remembered. Especially the dark forest, the dense meadow and the deep sea are looking beautiful from a distance, but at close range scary. Old 80’s Horror movies like Children Of The Corn (1984) have left their mark on an artist vivid imagination. In It’s A-O-K, Sinkkonen deals with the disconnected relationship between nature and humans in the 2010s world by representing wildlife flower field, a beautiful everyday theme, as a scary endless and mystical thing, as a dying natural landscape.
